In the Mood for Love

When it comes to astrology, many people often ask about their love lives in the approaching months. When is it coming? Will I begin a relationship this year? What about engagement or marriage, even? Is the one I’ve started dating going to become “the one?” So many of us have fallen before, had our hearts crushed, yet here we are — consulting the ancient art of astrology for answers about our future.

Astrology shows us certain times that are best for specific actions in life. On and after a New Moon (or Solar Eclipse) that is directly connected to romance, partnership, or union, we lay the seeds to increase this energy in our lives — whether we are single, looking, or attached. Actions to take during these times, if single and looking, are going out to meet new people, reaching out to someone you’re attracted to, joining a dating app or matchmaker, or even just setting up new dates. If taken, you’ll want to plan some special dates for you and your one-and-only. Whether you actually meet your ultimate match during this time is not crucial. You are simply communicating your desires to the Universe when the doors to this energy are open.

Full Moons (or Lunar Eclipses) come six months after the corresponding New Moon in that same area of your life, so you will want to watch how the actions you took previously are finally coming to culmination now!

Another aspect that astrologers watch are the movements of the planets as they travel around the Sun (even though they look like they’re traveling around us here on Earth). We watch their motion to see what areas of our lives they are affecting. Every sign’s life is split up into 12 areas that rule different functions, such as work, romance, or even friendships.

Astrologers primarily focus on two “houses” in particular to predict when good times to start a new love or grow closer in a partnership occur (the 5th House: the House of True Love, Romance, and Adventure; as well as the 7th House: the House of Partnership, Commitments, and Marriage). You won’t need to know this detailed information to be able to read the coming year’s LoveScopes because I do the work for you, though! We highlight whenever a planet is moving through these sectors for you.

Venus, the planet of love and beauty, is particularly important to watch, as it always focuses on pleasure and where you are attracting blessings into your life. This is one of the most important tools that we focus on for predicting the best times for love. However, if you have another planet moving through one of the romance or partnership sectors, such as Mercury (the planet of communication), Mars (the planet of passion and sex), or a larger planet like Jupiter (the planet of luck and good fortune), this will also give clues on how you can use this rare timing to bring in new love or deepen the one you already have. Get excited! Love is just around the corner — for every single sign.

In the Mood for Sex

Just as there are wonderful times for love throughout the year, there are also times where you can turn up the heat in your sex life! Intimacy and passion are also activated during these times, often bringing forth an urge to merge with other people.

For the sake of ease, we will continue to focus on when a planet moves through an area in each sign’s horoscope that particularly addresses this. The House of True Love (5th House) brings forth casual love and passionate adventures — especially whenever Venus (planet of love and attraction) or Mars (planet of passion and energy) moves through it. This means that your love life will be heating up tremendously and there will be a great opportunity for sexual activity. However, when Venus moves through it, it’s a great time to attract others to you and show yourself off. Yet, when Mars moves through it, it’s a perfect time to be bold and go after who you want. Sex will be fiery and exciting — so be sure to check each month to see if this is being activated for your sign.

For committed partnerships, another area of your chart rules deeper unions that have had time to grow and a commitment is already in place (the 8th House: the House of Sexuality). Whenever one of our wonderful planets in the sky moves through this area, as will be mentioned in the coming LoveScopes, you’ll know that your attention will be drawn toward this energy. This will be a key time when you’re focused on intimacy and bringing depth into your relationships. As always, we point out the key times — so be sure to mark your dates!

New Moons in these specific areas of your life open a door to take action to increase the heat in your love life, whereas Full Moons bring a culmination — directly connected to the actions you took six months prior at the corresponding New Moon. These, too, will always be marked to help with your planning and allow you to watch how effective your original actions were.
