This is one of the most fortunate periods of the Jupiterian cycle, as our Great Benefic is known to be “exalted” in this Water sign. The penumbral eclipse begins at 12:44 AM (Pacific), with maximum eclipse appearing at 3:33 AM (Pacific) and the penumbral eclipse ending at 5:17 AM (Pacific). 68.78% of the world's population will be able to see at least some of the eclipse, whereas about 30.83% of the Earth's population will be able to see it from beginning to end. We have been experiencing eclipses on the Virgo-Pisces axis in recent years, but we previously experienced them in 2016. The upcoming eclipses on the Virgo-Pisces axis include: September 7, 2025 (lunar eclipse in Pisces at 15 degrees), September 21, 2025 (solar eclipse in Virgo at 29 degrees), March 3, 2026 (lunar eclipse in Virgo 13 degrees), August 28, 2026 (lunar eclipse in Pisces 5 degrees), and February 20, 2027 (lunar eclipse in Virgo 2 degrees). Eclipses repeat on the same degree and zodiac sign on a nineteen-year cycle, so we previously experienced them from 2006 to 2008. The Worm Moon was originally named because March brings the awakening of Spring—officially marked by the Spring Equinox that takes place on March 20, 2025 this year. However, hints of what’s to come can be found as the ice thaws and earthworms begin to emerge from the soil and beetle larvae start to slither out from beneath the bark of trees. This brings forth a whole scurry of activity within other animals—such as robins and other birds eager to feast after a long, cold winter. This year’s Worm Moon is also a full moon lunar eclipse. Major events happen near lunar eclipses. They always take place on a full moon—and are three times more intense, emotional, and powerful. They often trigger fated and destined events. They often bring their greatest news and events on the day or within the week of the eclipse. However, they can also echo out significantly in the entire month before and after—often triggering an evolving story in our lives. Often we witness major endings, turning points, awakenings, sudden news, breakthroughs, or breakdowns—all destined in nature. The Worm Moon this year is also a lunar eclipse in Virgo (12 degrees). This Earth sign’s energy will echo through the cosmos and our world. Virgo is the sixth zodiac sign in the wheel and is the polarity of Pisces—where the sun currently orbits at this time. Virgo is the zodiac sign of productivity and rules employment, work projects, coworkers, pets and one’s physical health. Virgo is a practical, grounded and efficient zodiac sign, which is what will be important for us to face. Streamlining our plans, schedules and routines will help us to make more progress and get where we wish to be much faster.
